The Way of Stillness

A WEEKLY VIRTUAL TEA & MEDITATION SPACE

The bowl is empty, then filled, then drunk. The incense is lit and then reduced once more to ash. There is silence, then noise, then silence again. There is energy and awareness, then dissipation, only to be found again later down the way…

Nature exists in cycles of winter to summer, rest to harvest, stillness to movement.

And yet the story we keep hearing, and that many of us are living, is burnout, chronic stress, fatigue, the wound-up feeling of never quite being able to land. We do not let ourselves rest. We do not let ourselves become still.

In Zen and Taoist traditions, stillness is not just the absence of motion or noise. It is an active state of tranquility, clarity, and receptivity… the ground from which wisdom and action arise. A way of being that returns you to your own nature.

If we intend to create change in ourselves, our families, or the work that we do, we have to know stillness. Without that knowing we spin in chaos, neither advancing nor retreating, caught in the between.

This is why The Way of Stillness exists. To be a virtual temple, tea room, and meditation space for those who want to deepen their relationship with stillness.

A space to empty. To set aside. To come back into balance. To not wish for solutions or answers, but to simply be… with all that is, in each bowl of tea, each moment of silence.

If you find yourself craving moments to yourself, or a desire to move at your own pace in this busy world, this space is for you.

If you desire to connect with other like-hearted people, and feel supported in your growing awareness, this community is for you.

Here, we come not to be taught, but instead to listen to what we already know within. To unravel. To find stillness no matter the season.

If you find yourself in these words, I hope you’ll join me in this space.
